How to start?

A Skill is a set of rules teaching AI how to get tasks done.

1
Bring your material
Add a template file or helper script to your skill and have the agent invoke it during execution.
2
Let your Agent follow the Skill
Extend your skill with bundled templates, reference files, and scripts

Use skill-scripts to help me complete this task. Ask for missing material, use actual tools, save the result, and check it against the learning criteria.

Before you start The evidence states its exact scope. Model output and permissions depend on your Agent. Automatic discovery is not established by extracted files. Agent/model charges depend on your provider. Extra services and requirements are listed in the package.

--- name: skill-scripts description: Add one useful template, reference or deterministic helper to an existing original Skill, link it at the right workflow step, and prove the resource was actually used. Use after the learner has a working first Skill. --- # Give your Skill one useful resource Main quest 3-3. More files are not automatically more value. ## Choose the resource Read the learner's existing Skill and identify a demonstrated repeated task or failure. Use a template for a stable output structure, a reference for conditional knowledge, or a script for deterministic checks. Keep the original task scope and trigger precise. Do not add accounts, dependencies or paid services unless the chosen task already requires and authorizes them. ## Connect it Put the resource inside the Skill folder with a stable relative path. In SKILL.md state when to load or invoke it and what its result means. Resolve paths from the installed Skill directory rather than assuming the current working folder. Quote filenames with spaces correctly for the user's shell. Treat supplied text as data; never concatenate it into an executable shell command. Read `references/resource-check.md` when reviewing the change. ## Use it on real input For the practice decision-record Skill, add `assets/record-template.md` and `scripts/check-record.mjs`. Read the template while producing a new record. Fill only supplied facts and keep unknowns explicit. Run the checker against the saved result with the actual Node executable. The checker verifies structure; compare decision and reason manually against input as a separate fact check. If a check fails, fix the result or explain the blocker. Do not remove the check merely to make it pass. Record exact resource paths, command, result and source facts. ## Self-tests and failure criteria 1. Add and use the template/checker on a decision to keep 16 foundational Skills free. Preserve the supplied reason and open question. 2. Use a different decision with no supplied reason. The saved record must say Not supplied and still pass the structure check. 3. Missing Decision heading: the checker must exit nonzero. 4. A resource merely included in the ZIP but never referenced or used does not satisfy this task. Do not claim that a structure checker proves facts, quality or automatic discovery. ## Continue Return `/path/skill-scripts/`. Next `/path/skill-qa/`: turn these observations into reproducible self-tests and failure criteria. Original free workflow. Personal and commercial use allowed; no complete-package resale.
