Terms of Service
Last updated: October 26, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before accessing or using newbieskill.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using newbieskill at https://newbieskill.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
newbieskill provides an interactive 16-level educational curriculum designed to teach users how to write, inspect, and deploy Agent Skills for modern artificial intelligence coding and desktop agents (including Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, and related runtimes). The Service also provides downloadable Studio Skills, curated open-source index references, and educational materials.
3. Intellectual Property & Deliverables
Studio Skills and Learning Materials: Original educational content, curricula, studio rule specifications (SKILL.md), and sample verification assets produced by newbieskill are the intellectual property of newbieskill. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive license to inspect, install, and execute these rules on your local computing environment.
Open-Source Directory: The public directory indexes open-source skills authored by third parties. Each indexed skill is subject to its original upstream license (such as MIT, Apache 2.0, or proprietary terms designated by the respective author). newbieskill claims no ownership over third-party open-source projects.
4. Permitted and Prohibited Conduct
You agree to use the Service and downloadable skills solely for lawful purposes. You agree NOT to:
- Use any skill or agent rule to execute malicious code, unauthorized penetration testing, vulnerability exploitation, or denial-of-service attacks.
- Fabricate false reviews, fictitious business metrics, or deceptive automated campaigns.
- Engage in abusive automated scraping that violates platform terms of service or circumvents access controls.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the security controls of our hosting or authentication infrastructure.
5. AI Disclaimers & Operational Responsibility
Independent Runtimes: newbieskill distributes rule files and instructions. Skills are executed locally by your chosen third-party AI Agent and underlying Large Language Model (LLM). Model API usage fees, compute limits, and rate thresholds are governed by your agreement with your model provider.
No Guarantee of Output: Generative AI models are probabilistic. While our Studio Skills undergo rigorous factory self-testing with documented proof, actual results depend on your inputs, model updates, and environment. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying the factual accuracy, safety, and functionality of any code, document, or content generated by an AI agent.
THE SERVICE AND ALL DOWNLOADABLE SKILLS ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, newbieskill and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or operational disruptions arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service or skills.
7. Public Beta and Service Evolution
The Service is currently operating in public beta. We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature, course module, or skill without prior notice. Formal pricing tiers displayed on the site reflect our published pricing structure; access during the public beta is provided free of charge.
8. Contact & Inquiries
If you have questions, concerns, or legal inquiries regarding these Terms, please contact our support team at [email protected].
