# Make the handoff real

Main quest 2-4. Two calls in a conversation are not a chain unless step two consumes step one's saved result.

## Define the handoff

Identify the user's source, the two selected Skills and the requested destination format.
Confirm that the installed packages contain all resources required by both steps.
Read both Skills' instructions before assuming their output formats are compatible.
Choose stable names for the original source, first output and final output.
Keep original material unchanged.

## Execute the first step

Use the writing Skill on the learner's actual material.
For the main quest practice, use `xiaohongshu-note` to create the note's title options, body, tags and cover text.
Do not manufacture first-person experience, dates, costs, audience numbers or health claims.
If a title pattern would imply an unsupported fact, use a truthful instructional formulation.
Save the entire note as Markdown and read it back.
Run the selected Skill's checker if available; retain failures honestly.

## Execute the second step

Use `wechat-article-polish` on that exact saved Markdown.
The example is a formatting exercise; a Xiaohongshu draft is not automatically an editorially adapted WeChat article.
Do not claim it was pasted into or published by WeChat without actually checking the platform.
Preserve source text and use the inline-style output required by the formatter.
Record the input file's SHA-256 before conversion and the final HTML's SHA-256 after conversion.
Open the actual output and check desktop and narrow mobile rendering.
If the first output changes, regenerate and recheck the second.

## Checks

The two installed Skills remain the runtime dependencies; this coordinator does not silently replace either one.
Read `references/handoff-check.md` when auditing provenance.
Save source-to-result fact checks, not only hashes: a byte hash proves identity, not meaning.

## Self-tests and failure criteria

1. Use the public production brief A: create the note, save it and feed that exact path to the formatter. Check the stated 16 main quests and free foundation facts.
2. Use brief B about a fictional reading event. Preserve 24 bookmarks and the unknown venue through both outputs.
3. No source or only a vague theme: ask for audience, available material and desired result instead of inventing an experience.
4. A final output produced from a different hidden template, missing intermediate file or invented fact fails the chain.

Original free coordinator. Dependencies retain their own licenses. No complete-package resale.
